From Gayo to Wall Street: Ibu Rahmah Brings Ketiara Coffee to JPMorgan Chase

Ketiara coffee, grown by smallholder farmers in the Gayo Highlands of Indonesia, is now served at the café inside the global headquarters of JPMorgan Chase & Co. in New York City. For Ibu Rahmah, Chairperson of Koperasi Ketiara, this is more than a business milestone — it is recognition of the hard work of thousands of women farmers behind the cooperative.

Ketiara exports its coffee to the United States, where it is enjoyed not only at JPMorgan’s café but also by various buyers and importers across the country. This shows that Gayo coffee can compete at an international level and meet the expectations of global markets.

The partnership was strengthened through collaboration with Grace Farms Tea & Coffee, helping introduce Ketiara coffee to global clients who value quality, traceability, and sustainability. Ketiara’s export journey to the U.S. reflects years of dedication, careful farming practices, and strong international partnerships.

When Ibu Rahmah visited the United States in October 2025, she personally shared the story behind every cup — the farmers, the land, and the cooperative spirit that make Ketiara unique. Her visit symbolized trust, long-term partnership, and the growing presence of Indonesian coffee in the global market.

For Ketiara farmers, this achievement brings hope: hope that their work is respected, their coffee is recognized worldwide, and future generations can continue building a strong and sustainable coffee community.
